The difference between the Machined body and the Cast body
As you can see the bodies when viewed from above are very different. The one on the left has a Horizontal casting seam with no horizontal grooves and the body is circular. The grooves are machined into the body afterwards on a laithe. Where as the one on the right has a vertical casting seam with all grooves present saving a lot of work afterwards. Whether the left one was an early proccess which was replaced by the right model is unknown. They may well be just different factory manufacturing proccesses that were being used at the same time.
Does anyone have any more info ????
